Crowns & Bridges

Are your teeth cracking, breaking or just weakened from large old fillings? All-porcelain crowns (also called caps) are a beautiful, long-lasting choice for repair. The procedure involves reducing and carefully shaping the supporting tooth, creating an impression from which a model of the prepared tooth is made, and having the crown fabricated (usually in a dental lab) and then fitting and permanently cementing or bonding the crown in place.

Crowns can restore beauty, function, and strength to teeth that have been damaged by accident, tooth decay or worn out fillings. There are many types of crowns. Each with its own set of advantage and disadvantages. Here at H.W. Brueggen D.D.S we will be happy to discuss your options with you.

Are you missing a tooth? A bridge may be the answer. The tooth on each side of the missing tooth may be used to support a bridge. A bridge uses a crown cemented to the teeth or implants adjacent to a space created by a missing tooth or teeth. Fixed bridges were the standard of care for tooth replacement for many years prior to dental implants and are still a valuable option for many patients. They do not come in or out and they look and function very naturally.
